What's the difference between Raw, Liquid
and Crystallized Honey?
Carlisle Honey offers two types of Pure Raw Honey and Honeycomb (comb honey)

Raw Spring Blossom Honey (light):
Raw honey, light in color with
a very delicate honey flavor - you can almost taste the blossoms! This honey
is from the early spring blossoms of fruit trees and spring flowers. Truly
some of the sweetest and finest tasting honey you can find.
Raw Summer Wildflower Honey (dark):
Raw honey, dark
amber color with a full bodied natural flavor. This honey is produced
from nectar gathered in July and August. It's richer color and deeper
flavor reflect the rich colors of summer.

About
our Honey -
Our honey is Raw, unheated and unfiltered. That is, our raw honey is only strained
to remove any bits of honey comb wax, so it still contains original pollen because
it is not filtered.
We
do not heat the honey like commercial honey packers do to break down any sugar
crystals. That is why their honey will stay clear on the supermarket shelf.
Of course, heat above 115 deg destroys the antioxidants, important enzymes,
vitamins and other beneficial attributes. Also many people find that heated
honey looses much of its natural aroma and flavor.
We are a small producer with hives located in in and around Carlisle in rural areas away from commercial property and agricultural chemical use. Our apiary has been operated as an organic apiary for a number of years. The honey is produced in organic practice hives and is handled to organic standards. We depend on the bees for the rest.
Quiz:
This may help some appreciate honey bees a bit more:
Since one worker bee can gather 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime,
how many bees would be necessary to gather 1 pint of honey? Hint: (3 teaspoons
= 1 tablespoon, 16 tablespoons = 1 cup, 2 cups = 1 pint). Answer can be found
on this page.

These Beeswax
Dinner Candles are 7/8" diameter to fit standard candlesticks. We create our tapers using old world candle making techniques by hand dipping each pair repeatedly in melted wax to build up the perfect diameter. Each candle is dipped and cooled over twenty times before a pair is removed from the old-time oak rack used for dipping. When finished they carry the rich scent of beeswax and honey. Keep out of
drafts when burning and away from fans - these tapers will burn virtually dripless.
Our hand-dipped tapers will burn dripless for more than one hour per inch. Base
diameter is 7/8". Cotton wicks - lead free - paraffin free. |

Tea Lights
Twelve in

Our pure beeswax Tea Lights will burn longer, cleaner and brighter than traditional
paraffin tea lights. Helpful Candle Tip - Always use a tea light holder when burning tea light candles. The silver cup that holds the beeswax becomes hot and could damage your tabletop surface. $11.95 each |

Votives

votives, like other traditional votives, are made to become molten and fill
the glass or holder they are contained in.
