Welcome to Carlisle Honey's
Bee Yard
Bee hives in the bee
yard with Spring Blossoms.
The two larger boxes at the bottom of each hive are called the hive bodies. This is where the bees live, raise their young and store their winter supply of
honey. The smaller 3 boxes on top of the hive bodies are where the bees
store honey that is removed at the end of the summer to be bottled by the
beekeeper.

Worker bee.

Honey stand
at the end of our driveway where our honey is sold during the
months of May-June and Sep-Oct, weather permitting.

This worker bee
has been out all day collecting nectar and pollen.
She collects pollen on
her legs to bring back to the hive to store
for winter meals and to feed the
young.

A hive opening where the hive is being inspected for it's size (amount of bees) and honey production [this one looks great].

The frames of
honey comb are filled with honey and in the hive bodies as
in these pictures, pollen is also stored and young bees are born and raised.

Bees on honey comb.

The bees collect every drop of spilled honey and will restore it in the honey comb.

The Queen Bee is surrounded by workers tending to her.

The Queen is inspecting a cell for a new baby
bee. The Queen will
check to make sure the workers have cleaned out the cell properly.
